PICASSO AND GĆSOL
In the spring of 1906, Pablo Picasso visited Gósol with his companion Fernande Olivier. During his stay in this picturesque Pyrenean village, Picasso created some of his most significant works, which marked a milestone in the history of modern art. The figures he painted, charged with a rare intensity and mystery, reflected the simple and timeless beauty of Gósol, with its rugged landscape and its unique light.
This brief but decisive period in Gósol not only transformed Picasso's art, but also influenced the evolution of 20th-century art, marking the end of a stage of research and the beginning of a new creative era.
Today, visitors can learn more about this important chapter in Picasso's life at the Picasso Museum in Gósol, which houses a collection of his works from this period, as well as an exhibition about his relationship with the town and its surroundings.
